14April04 Finished up the website. This took a little longer then planned as I continued to add pages and change graphics. Some pages will not be complete as I haven't done any work on that part of the ship.

10April04

I finally got to working on the website. As this website is part of my business website, I wanted it to have a similar layout. I have already completed some components for a 3D computer graphics class.
03April04 Mainmast is complete. Decided to group all the rigging together so i can turn it on and off easily for rendering. Still haven't got the colors I want. I have the actual model paints but the Haze Grey seems dark and the Ocean Grey seems to blue. This may be a time to pick medium greys and light greys that "look" more realistic.
01April04 Added rigging to the mainmast. Think I need to go back and make it even thinner.
18March04 Finished the .50 water-cooled magine guns for the AA Platform. Had two different pictures/drawings of the mount so I picked one. Didn't go into too much detail given the overall scale of the model.
08March04 Put it all together and everything fits. Why am I surprised since I drew everything to scale. Now I have to go in and add details such as the bell, between platform ladders, rigging, etc.
02March04 Finished the upper director houses and the AA platform.
21February04 Finished all the platforms on the mainmast (4).
10February04 36" Searchlights completed. Not happy with the amount of detail I had to work with. Hopefully I can update them later.
04February04 Decicded to start on the mainmast components. Scanned in the searchlight platform from the 1/192 plans, drew half of it and mirrored it in Illustrator, took that spline into Max and extruded it for the platform and lofted the spline for the railings.
22January04 School beckoned. Spent the last 2 weeks creating my print portfolio. Needed a break so I finished the fantail aircraft crane. Interesing how every one of my resources show a slightly different lattice pattern.
06January04 Finished the kingposts. Will mirror the starboard one to the port side.
15December03 Used the same technique for the fantail catapult.
12December03 Finished the catapult. Scanned in the brass etching detail kit (from Gold Medal Models) for the 1/350 Trumpter model, scaled it to 1/192 and redrew the top, sides, bottoms, and platforms in Illustrator as splines. Took the splines into Max and extruded and built it. When i put it on my finished main gun turret, I only needed minor adjustments for it to fit.
06December03 Finished the gun turrets. Will start on the No. 3 turret catapult next.
22November03 Collected all my research and sat down to start. Decided to work on the main gun turrets first. It is very interesting looking at the various information I have and how each is slightly different from the other.
